SAMSØ ferry power system maintains ecological requirements of one of the wonders of the world

Deliver an ecologically friendly LNG power system adaptable for ship to shore or shore to ship power use.

Solution:
Power Xpert 9395 Marine UPS frequency converter, EC4P programmable logic controller (PLC).

Results:
Utilization of land-based (50 Hz) power system and ship-based (60 Hz) power system flexibly,  intelligently and safely.

Denmark does not possess fossil fuels and since the 1970s, they have been researching more ecological solutions. In fact Samsø became the symbol of a new energy policy and it is often called “the ecological wonder of the world” as it is the first Danish island to use 100% renewable energy and consequently has a CO2 emissions rating of zero.

Landsvirkjun works with Eaton to bring reliable and environmental reserve
Landsvirkjun, the National Power Company of Iceland, is Iceland’s largest electricity generator and one of the ten largest producers of renewable energy in Europe. Landsvirkjun operates 18 power plants in Iceland, and they also operate two windmills as a research and development test site.

Eaton UPS in CE Colo data center environment
In 2015, CE Colo started to address the technological renovation of the existing UPS system. Two independent manufacturers capable of delivering technologies that are required for the challenging data center environment were selected. The reconstruction of the existing functional system required the implementation of a new solution to prevent the renovation from having any impact on the 24/7 operation and the customers.
